Italia

The day after Paris we flew into Pisa, Italy for a four-day tour of Italy. When we arrived in Pisa we rented a car and typed in the GPS Tower of Pisa. It was a gorgeous day so we got beautiful photos of us and the leaning tower. We stayed there for our first Italian lunch then drove the countrysides towards Rome. On the way down we stopped in Volterra which was the original setting for some scenes in Twilight. We took a few pictures and stopped to haggle some scarf deals then kept driving.Upon arriving in Rome it was dark so we briefly saw the city. We had dinner in an Irish bar then went to bed.

The next day we woke up early and decided to walk the city. We started our day at the Colosseum where my dad and I decided to get a guided tour while Courtney and my mom walked around the ruins. We walked towards the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. Throughout the day we stopped to shop for Lemonchello, fresh pasta, and of course gelato! For dinner we went to an amazing restaurant with traditional Italian food and wine.

Our last day in Rome and my parents and sister woke up extra early to see the Vatican. They went in and located Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. I wanted (needed) sleep so I slept in. Once they were done, we got back in the rental and drove up towards Florence. Along the way we stopped in a city called Montepulciano. We had the most amazing lunch at a winery with the freshest pasta I've ever encountered.

St. Marks Square
Florence was good, we stopped to see the famous statue of David then went to dinner at our hotel. We woke up early on our last day as we had to drive to Venice. Courtney and I have been to all of these places before so we knew saving Venice for last was the best choice. In Venice, we had to park our car and get on a "taxi" which is a boat. We went through a few canals then got off at St. Marks Square. We shopped in and out of the streets and had lunch at the Hard Rock. We decided we wouldn't do any gondola rides this trip as we didn't have much time.

After Venice, we drove back to Pisa where we flew back to London. This was my parents last night so we stayed in and talked about the highlights of our trip. The next morning we made a quick pit-stop to Buckingham Palace then headed towards Heathrow Airport. Courtney and I felt weird saying good-bye to our parents in England. We felt as though we should be hopping on the Delta plane too! Overall, we had a fabulous two-week trip with our parents. Hopefully they got a taste of Europe and will want to come back soon!
