So we are officially going out of order now. We completely forgot to write an entry about our
Breaking Dawn experience. On November 16th the movie premiere of
Twilight's Breaking Dawn was here. It went to New York, L.A, Paris and of course, London. With Courtney and I being huge fans we decided this is our one shot to spot Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and man did we get close to them. In order to have a great view of the starts walking the red carpet, you had to camp out plenty of days in advance waiting in the queue. We decided that spending the night was good enough so we arrived around 12:00 the night before. When we got there, there were already 500 people in front of us. They were wrapped up in tons of blankets laying on the chilly concrete. Everybody was a die hard. Knowing it was cold, Courtney and I came prepared bringing all the sweatshirts and blankets we own, but it still didn't make much of a difference. We ended up pulling an all nighter with a few other fans. It got quite boring during the night so we made good friends with the people around us. We met two girls who flew in from Ireland just for the premiere, Moya and Fiona. They were so friendly and we actually ended up sticking with them throughout the entire premiere. As the night passed on, I had a few short chapters left of
Breaking Dawn so I was determined to finish reading before I viewed the movie. Courtney listened to music and chatted with the other Twihards.
Finally around 9:00 A.M the next day, the queue started moving for wristbands. We got really excited, only to be moved to the next queue to wait some more. Still standing around until 11:00 A.M we finally got free and it basically was a free for all to run to the red carpet and get right on the railing to be up and close to the stars. I felt so silly trying to find a "good spot"- What did we know? We've never been to a premiere! Eventually we did get a spot on the railing right across from the press. This was great because we were right at the beginning so we got to see them walk out and we were caught in the background of some of the stars in magazines and newspapers! (See below)

After such a long day of standing around outside (did I mention the premiere is outside too?) the press started filing in, the hosts began, and people started getting rowdy. They showed on a huge jumbotron the trailer to the movie and from there R. Pattz, Taylor, and Kristen came out. Us being opposite of the press, my eyes were blinded by all of the lights! The three stars stood in front of us for awhile so we were able to get really good pictures of them. One-by-one the stars came over to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. Courtney got all three signatures and got some of them on video. After they came near us, they moved on further down the red carpet to do some interviews and sign some more autographs. This was by far the longest red carpet. If you can picture it- it was in-between an outdoor mall, then up an escalator inside the mall for more fans. I'm sure the stars get so tired of it after awhile.

Male dominated profession- the press. |
Once the main stars came out, the director, producer and other stars from the U.K came out. Every other person I had to ask my neighbor who they were. Didn't recognize any of them, but it was still fun to see the press go wild. They would get angry at the stars by yelling where to look.

Such a long night. |
After two hours of pure chaos from not only the press, but the fans itself, the premiere was over. We walked back inside the mall filled with young teens screaming about the event, and we found our bus. Once we got home we crashed, but the next day was just as eventful. We decided it would be fun to do the 'Twiathlon'. This is watching all four of the movies back-to-back starting at 4:00 P.M. Yes, we are that crazy. Surprisingly, once we got there, it wasn't full like it would have been in the states. The guy-girl ratio was about 50/50 also might I note. What are all these dudes doing here? Not only seeing a chick flick- but some were alone and some were in groups! This was so bizarre for us! I could never picture that in the States! It was quite funny.
After watching each movie, we finally got to midnight to watch the long anticipated
Breaking Dawn. It was ab fab! The movies didn't end until around 2:00 A.M and by then the tube is closed so we had to take a taxi home.
The past two days during that week were so much fun. We figured when else would we ever stay overnight to go to a film premiere? We thought we got so lucky going to this one since we were already huge fans. I'm glad I can cross it off my bucket list! But looking back, I probably wouldn't do it again. It was a lot of waiting around especially in the cold. Don't get me wrong, being that close to the beautiful Robert Pattinson was great, but I just don't think I would do it again.

Courtney is so happy on the right. |
We later looked on the websites, and found ourselves in the newspaper! On Facebook I posted more pictures so be sure to look at them! We will write more later! xx

See me peeking through the background? |
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, girls, and you should be glad you made the memory for yourselves. How fun and exciting this must have been for you to be so up close and personal to such huge movie stars! Guess it was worth the long wait, huh?! Very cool!
